Commissioned Painting, "A Quiet Support"

In 2018, I was commissioned by the YWCA of the Southern Tier to design and paint a large-scale outdoor painting. Called A Quiet Support, it is located on the side of YWCA headquarters in downtown Elmira, NY and is approximately 20 x 20 feet. The painting is intended to remind the community that YWCA is a place where women can go to receive care and empathy. The orange hand represents the YWCA reaching out to women in the community while the waves represent the organizations most celebrated features: the swimming pool and its Women's Breast Health Program, which, “continues to provide critical breast health care to area women irrespective of income, ethnicity or race.”
